Coping through COVID-19

Updated: Mar 25, 2020

You’re probably thinking about what to do right now with all this chaos happening. So… I want to share something very personal with you - to help.

EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED.

My initial reactions were panic and anxiety (especially the thought of loss of income). I actually don’t like too much change and nor do my children. It’s trying to be brave and positive in these situations for your family. Honestly, I felt so emotional (starting to take Ashwaganda again to cope)

Right now, I know things seem really bad. And I’m not going to sugar-coat it - you know there’s a global pandemic, an uncertain economy, and everywhere you look you’re seeing more bad news.

I know you’re worried about your loved ones, yourself, and I also know you’re worried about your business. This is real. SO this last week was a little binge eating on unhealthy foods and lots of wine…. I have now pulled myself towards myself and ready to tackle what needs to be done. (A little self-pity is okay as long as you do move on quickly 😊

During a time of illness, fear, and struggle, people need to build up their immune systems, restore their gut health, and kick sugar to the curb. Your health and family’s health is vitally important at this time. But more than that, you need someone who can guide you and offer you the support when everything feels so uncertain and unstable.

I remind myself to do this daily and maybe you can do the same:

  1. Breathe, Christine.

  2. Go for a run or walk - Get Outside

  3. Immune support - Vitamin C, Lysine, Oregano oil tablets, Zinc and Vitamin B (to cope with stress)

  4. Digestive Health - Kombucha, Probiotic Rotation and sauerkraut daily.

  5. Mindset - I listen to podcasts and read Pema Chodron - When things fall apart. Take 20 min a day for just this.

  6. My liver loving goodies - chlorophyll, lemon water, spirulina and barley grass.

  7. My oils - Smell my Clarycalm and enjoy my essential oils.

  8. Sweat – exercise & enjoy a 20 min Epsom salt bath with oils.

  9. Stress help - take some Ashwagandha tablets and maca for my mood.

  10. Tea - drink my flu tea to boost my immune system and Valerian tea to manage stress, anxiety and helps with sleep.

What Not Too Do:

· Whallow in self-pity for too long

· Comfort eat all day

· Stay inside and not exercise

· Eat badly – yes have a bad day but not everyday

· Watch tv all day

FOCUS on something new at this time, maybe just focus on YOU. Time to reflect, look at your health, look at your family’s health and maybe do some decluttering and reorganising.

I am here for you. I am here to guide you, support you and motivate you over this time.

We have set up some FREE downloads, a FREE Facebook group for “HY Wellness at Home” to encourage a healthy lifestyle, share recipes and wellness tips.

We have an incredible At School Wellness Program which received fantastic interest from school. However due to the closure of schools we are exploring the option of running this program through an online platform for parents to do with their children at home. It will cover ALL you need to know about raising healthy kids, including how to do it, where to start, monthly recipes, tip and tricks, and more. We would love to know if you would be interested in joining this program and if you think this is something that would work for your family. Please drop me an email so I can gauge interest as I will need a fair amount of people interested to proceed.

Please do share this blog with your family and friends. The healthier we are as a nation the sooner we can overcome this.

If you need any specific just for you, please drop me a mail – I am here to help, support and guide!
